21. Minister’s son breaks traffic rules

CHAPTER 21
Minister’s son breaks traffic rules

Ranjit was torturing terrorist Rehman. He was hitting him again and again. Rehman was screaming with pain. His face was swollen and he was fully tired. He was now ready to talk.

Ranjit said, “Eh, Rehman, tell me whom do you know in this area.”

Tired, slowly, Rehman said, “I know only my neighbour Khaji Ahmed. He is from Bangladesh. He came 6 months back.”

This small information was enough for Ranjit. He immediately climbed into his jeep with 5, 6 officers and went to Ahmed’s house.

Jeep stopped near Ahmed’s house.
Ranjit said to his officers, “Do not fire without my orders. I must catch him red handed.”

All got down. But the house was locked. They peeped into the widow. The house was empty. Ranjit was shocked. He looked around at the neighbouring houses. They entered a neighboring house.

One 80 years old man was lying on the bed. He was coughing.

Going near him, Ranjit said, “Sabji, where is your neighbour?”

Getting up slowly, pointing, old man said, “He went away 10 days back. I do not know where.”

Ranjit became desperate and stared at the old man. “What is your relationship with Rehman?”

Desperately, Old man sai, “He is my grandson. He is the only person who is looking after me. He too is missing from 10 days.”

Ranjit and officers went out of the house feeling desperate.
Ranjit said with disappointment, “The bird has flown away.”

Amrita came to the shooting academy in great fashion. Siddartha was shocked on seeing her dress. He stared at her excited. She too looked at him romantically. They went together to the shooting spot.

When Siddartha was loading the gun, Amrita looked into his eyes and said, “I want to tell you something.”

Surprised and a bit shocked, Siddartha asked, “What?”

Feeling shy, Amrita said, “Not now. I will tell when I leave.”

Siddartha nodded. He was excited feeling sure that something was going on. “Ok. Let us go for practice.”

Amrita looked at him with dreamy eyes and followed him.
*************************
Ranjit came out of his office a bit disturbed and climbed onto his jeep. Driver started the jeep. Jeep moved towards Ranjit’s house.

Biting his teeth, seriously, Ranjit said, “These dogs will open their mouth only if we peel their skin.”

Driver looked at Ranjit and thought, “Sir is in a very angry mood.”

The jeep stopped at a signal. At the same time one boy jumped the red light and moved on a high power sports motorbike in high speed with his friend. SI saluted to the boy. Ranjit was very angry on seeing this. As soon as the signal changed into green, Ranjit told the driver to stop near the traffic police. Driver did as he was told.

Getting down and going near the traffic inspector, Ranjit asked, “Are you blind? Why didn’t you catch him?”

Shivering with fear, SI said, “Sir, he is minister’s son. If I catch him, I will lose my job.”

Angrily, pointing to the police dress, Ranjit asked, “You are wearing a uniform. Are you not ashamed to say such a thing? “

Looking at the driver, Ranjit said, “Follow the bike.”

Jeep moved in high speed. Far away, they could the motorbike. Pointing to it, Ranjit said, “Follow them. Don’t let them get away. Increase the speed and stop in front of them.”

The jeep moved in high speed and stopped in front of the bike. The bike stopped. Minister’s son who was riding the bike was very angry. His friend got down feeling scared.
Ranjit got down from the jeep. Going near the bike, Ranjit said, “Don’t you have manners? Red light is on and yet you are crossing the road?”

Carelessly, pointing finger at Ranjit, the boy said, “Who are you to ask me that? That SI saluted and left me.”

Ranjit got very angry. Going near him and touching his own chest, Ranjit said, “I will tell you later who I am.”

Pointing to the boy’s chest, Ranjit said, “First you admit that you have made a mistake.”

Pushing Ranjit’s hand away and lifting his shirt collar proudly, the boy said seriously, “Do you know who I am? I am minister’s son.”
Touching Ranjit’s dress and handling the stars, he said, “You are in uniform. You are wearing stars.”
Bringing his face close to Ranjit’s face, boy said, “If you interfere in my business, they make your stars fall.”

Ranjit got very angry. He gave him a heavy punch. The boy was shocked. With his hand on his face, the boy asked, “You are hitting me? I will call my dad and tell him to take action against you.”

The other boy was watching with fear.
Ranjit said angrily, “Badmash, I will make your teeth fall.”

Ranjit hit the boy again and again. Blood oozed from his mouth. His teeth fell down. He fell down on the road. Ranjit put his leg on the boy’s chest.

Shocked, driver came and stopped Ranjit from hitting any more.         Holding Ranjit, Driver said, “Sir, cool down. If you hit any more, he will die.”

Becoming cool, Ranjit said, “You might have been killed due to my anger. You were saved because of my driver.”

Ranjit wiped his face. “Bring water.”

Driver brought a bottle of water from jeep.
Ranjit drank water. “Put him in the jeep and admit him in the hospital. I will phone to the DSP to book a case.”

Driver and the other boy lifted the wounded boy and put him in the jeep. Driver stood near Ranjit for his next orders.

Ranjit looked around. He saw the shooting academy nearby. Amrita must be there learning shooting. He thought he might spend some time at the academy till the driver returns with the jeep.

Ranjit looked at the driver and said, “Take him away. I will be in the academy.”
