65. Siddartha escapes death

CHAPTER 65
Siddartha escapes death

As soon as the jeep reached a dense forest area, Jilal gave signal to the man next to him. Siddartha observed this and became alert. Two men suddenly pushed Siddartha out of the jeep. Fighting started. Siddartha fell outside the jeep. The men opened fire at him. Siddartha escaped getting hit and ran.
Jilal said angrily, “That bastard has escaped. But Judge is in our hands.”

They had put a tape over Judge’s face. His hands were tied up. He looked at the men helplessly. It was almost dark. Jeep came to a turning and Siddartha was waiting there. He shot at the driver. Driver was hit and the jeep slipped. Siddartha went to the jeep in high speed. He killed the three men with bullets.
Siddartha held gun at Judge’s head.
Looking at Jillal, Siddartha said, “If you try any tricks, you will get only the dead body of the Judge.”

Shocked, Jilal said, “Please don’t do anything to the Judge. I have to take him alive to Bilal.”

Seriously, Siddartha said, “Climb the jeep and take us straight to your hide out.”

Jilal climbed into the driver’s seat. Siddartha sat in the back with gun at Judge’s head. Jeep started moving.

Jeep stopped outside a hill station. 7,8 men came with guns in the darkness. Siddartha made the Judge climb down from jeep with gun at his head. He took the Judge to the old building.
Siddartha entered the old building with Judge. Bilal was sitting inside. Reshmi was positioned for hanging. Siddartha is shocked to see her in such a situation. Reshmi started crying on seeing Siddartha. Siddartha lost his concentration. Immediately, one man fired at Siddartha’s gun. It fell down. Siddartha was shocked.

Seriously, Bilal said, “If you put one step forward, your girl will be hanged.”

Raising his hands, Siddartha pleaded, “Please don’t do anything to her. I have brought the Judge to you as you told. Now please leave her.”

Bilal said, “We will leave her and you can marry her at the fixed time tomorrow.”
Pointing to a suitcase, Bilal said, “See here. This money is also for you. We are giving it to you as a reward for your job.”

Sadly, Siddartha said, “I did not do the job for money. I did it for my Reshmi.”

Trying to convince him, Bilal said, “We will leave her. But not now. Your job is not complete.”
Holding Judge’s neck and pressing it with great anger, Bilal said, “Bastard, you are the one who gave the verdict of hanging to Afzal, isn’t it? We have also prepared hanging for you. You have also kept for you the same auspicious time as Afzal.”

Looking at his men, Bilal said, “Tie him up.”

Judge was made to stand on a drum with a nose around his neck. Siddartha was shocked seeing all this. Three terrorists stood with guns around the Judge with cloth over their faces.

Bilal said, “Take video of this person. Remove the tape over his mouth.”

One man was adjusting a digital camera. One man removed the tape over the mouth of the Judge.

Judge shouted, “Please don’t do anything to me.”

With cloth over his face, Bilal came in front of the camera.                    Seriously, Bilal said, “Mr. HM, if you don’t release out Afzal tonight, we will hang your judge at the same auspicious time tomorrow. And at that same time, chain bomb blasts will start in the city. One every half an hour. This time not just hundred men but thousands will die. You should arrange a live telecast of the release of Afzal. We will watch it on TV. Send Afzal to our spot by helicopter. We will keep giving directions about our spot by phone. The same helicopter will take our men and your judge to Pakistan. We will release your Judge in Pakistan.”

Giving the recorded CD to Siddartha, Bilal said, “Put this CD in the channel box and give me a miss call.”

Requesting, Siddartha said, “Please release Reshmi. I will take her with this CD.”
Seriously, commanding, Bilal said, “Not now. When this news appears on TV channels, consider that your Reshmi is free.”
