CHAPTER 12

First meeting of Amrita and Siddartha

It was state sports authority shooter’s function. Auditorium was full of people.

Sports secretary went up to the mike and said, “Champion Siddartha, has come first in all categories in shooting competition. He is now the state no.1 and 4^th in all India level. I call upon Champion Siddartha to please come on the stage.”

Everyone clapped as Siddartha went up to the stage in great style.          Sports secretary said, “The anti-terrorist task force commando Sri Ranjit will give the prize to Champion Siddartha”

Ranjit stood up and gave the prize to Siddartha. They shook hands. Ranjit said happily, “Well done my boy. Keep it up.”

Siddartha smiled and said, “Thanks sir.”

Sports secretary asked Siddartha to say a few words.

Siddartha smiled and went to the mike. Amrita was sitting in the first row with her friends. She was very much excited. She looked at Sneha and said, “What a handsome guy. Even his name is also so nice.”

Sneha was shocked to hear this. She patted Amrita and said, “Eh! Looks at you have fallen at first sight on seeing the champion.”

Amrita looked at the champion romantically and said, “True, I feel like that only. He has everything that a girl seeks in a man. What a beautiful personality.”

Sneha looked at Amrita and then at Siddartha. “You are bowled out just at the sight of the champion. I wonder what will happen to you after listening to his speech.”

Amrita nodded and looked at Siddartha.

Siddartha started his speech, “My wishes to the chief guest and all those who have come for this function. I have been the State no.1 shooter since last two years and this year too I have been able to retain the title. This could not have happened without the support and training from chief coach of our academy Mr. Rana. I am very grateful to him.

Everyone clapped. Siddartha gave the trophy to Rana who was sitting on the stage. Rana took the trophy happily and went to the mike.

“My student Siddartha is most intelligent and a shooter who has high concentration. I wish him to become all India level no.1 shooter tomorrow.”

Amrita was watching Siddartha excitedly.

Rana handed the trophy back to Siddartha and patted his back.            Happily, Siddartha said to the audience, “It is my greatest dream to become all India level no.1 shooter.”

Siddartha looked at Ranjit and said, “But more than that, my aim is to become a commando like our commando Ranjit.”

Ranjit was excited to hear this. Everyone clapped. Amrita also clapped with excitement. She looked at Siddartha and went into drems.

“You have told your future dream. But do you know what my dream is? To catch your heart and marry you by the time you become a commando.”

Sneha was shocked to hear this. “Amrita, what all are you saying? You don’t know anything about him. So soon you have got completely bowled out for that no.1 shooter.”

Seriously looking at Sneha, Amrita said, “What to do? He is a magnet. He has pulled my heart and my mind. I have to try catching him from tomorrow itself.”
