CHAPTER 13
Amrita wishes to learn shooting
Ranjit was reading news paper
in the front lawn. Amrita came out wearing jogging dress. She looked at her
father and said, “Good morning, Dad.”
Ranjit put down the paper and smiled. “Good morning, dear.Going for
jogging?”
Amrita smiled coolly. “Yes dad.”
She sat in front of him and said, “I want to
ask you something.”
Surprised, Ranjit asked, “Do you want anything?”
Amrita shook her head and smiled. “No dad. But after attending that
function yesterday, I have decided to become a shooter.”
Ranjit removed his glasses and looked at her
keenly. Then he smiled.
“Do you also want to become a champion like
that shooter and then a commando like me?”
Amrita said, “No dad. Just for hobby.”
Ranjit nodded and smiled. “Is that all? I will phone to academy chief
Rana immediately. We can go in the evening and you can join Rana shooting
academy.”
Amrita was very happy. Her plan was a grand success. She got up and said,
“Thanks dad. I am going for jogging now. See you later.”
Ranjit nodded and put on his glasses to read the paper.
As soon as Amrita left, Ranjit took his mobile and punched a number.
“Major Mahender, special news for you. I am giving special training to
your would-be daughter-in-law in shooting.”
Mahender is sitting in the garden reading
paper sitting in front of wife and dog, drinking coffee.
Laughing, Mahender said, “Very good. In that case, she will control my
son completely.”
Mahender’s wife laughed and shook her head.
Ranjit laughed and said, “Sure. She is my only daughter and he is your
only son. We grew up together. So if they become couple, they will be together
life long.”
Maheder was excited. “True. But why did you not tell your daughter about
the marriage? When are you going to announce it to her?”
Ranjit laughed and said confidently, “I will
tell her. I am just waiting for a good opportunity. She is my daughter. She
listens to me and agrees to whatever I say.”
