Ranjit is killed

Siddartha went near the school near new Bombay, on motorbike. He looked at the school and the surrounding buildings once. All arrangements were going on in the ground. Far away there were some buildings. Siddartha saw one government utility building complex. He went there on bike.

Siddartha entered the government complex and climbed up the steps.

At the same time, Ranjit arrived to school by car.  School principal welcomed him with garland at the compound gate. Blind children gave bouquets. Ranjit touched the children kindly.

Standing in a line, the children said loudly, “Welcome to our chief guest commando Ranjit uncle. Bharat mata ki jai.”

Siddartha was climbing up the complex. Since it was a government office, so many people were climbing up and getting down. Climbing the steps one by one, Siddartha kept observing for a position of point blank range. He reached the last floor. It was empty. Siddartha opened the bathroom. It was empty.  He looked through the window. He could see Ranjit giving a speech. Siddartha removed his revolver and aimed it at Ranjit’s heart. At that time ‘Jana gana mana’ started. Ranjit was standing in attention.

Looking at Ranjit, Siddartha thought, “This is a good moment. One shot is enough. But I will fire two bullets. Just for surety.”

He pressed the trigger. Bullet was fired. He pressed the trigger again. Another bullet was fired. Immediately he took the lift to ground floor.

Ranjit fell down in a pool of blood. People were shocked. Immediately security surrounded him. Ambulance arrived. The security started searching for the place from where the shots were fired.

By the time, Siddartha had already gone very far on his bike.

Ranjit was taken in ambulance. Police immediately took the video cassette from the camera people.

Ranjit was in the operation theater. HM arrived. Amrita and Sneha arrived. They were crying.

TV news reporter announced, “Ranjit shot at in a School function. He is in the hospital fighting for life. Everyone feels that this is the job of the terrorists. The city and state is in full alert.”

Doctors were checking Ranjit. He was given blood. Finally the doctor put his hand on his head and went out.
