CHAPTER 23
Amrita is very sad
That morning Amrita did not go for jogging.
She was sitting in a disturbed mood in the hall still wearing a nightie.
Ranjit came into the hall fully dressed to go to office. He was surprised
to see his daughter sitting in the hall still wearing a night dress.
“What happened? Won’t you go for jogging?”
Looking at her father in a desperate mood, Amrita said, “No dad. I don’t
feel like.”
He looked at her. She had tears in her eyes. She wiped her eyes quickly.
He felt bad. He went near her and put his hand on her back.
“He should not have done like that. After having done a mistake should
have admitted to it.”
Amrita lifted her head and stared at her father sadly.
Caressing her head, Ranjit said, “Don’t stop going to the academy just
because he behaved like that. When Rana phoned at night, I told him. When I
asked him to appoint another coach for you, he said that he himself will teach
you.”
Ranjit went out. Amrita kept looking in that direction sadly. And then
she took her mobile and called her best friend Sneha to tell her about what
happened.
Amrita said on phone, “Do you know what happened yesterday?”
She described in detail about what all happened between her lover and her
father. Sneha listened to all that she said.
Crying bitterly, Amrita said, “How can I face him now? My father hit him
so badly in front of so may people. How bad he must have felt. I feel so bad. I
am the cause for everything.”
Sneha felt bad. She tried to console Amrita. “Don’t cry. I will speak to
him in the ice parlour in the evening and convince him. After that I will phone
to you. You come immediately.”
With tears in her eyes, Amrita
said, “Even if he hits me, I don’t mind. But I am not ready to lose him.”
