45. Amrita tells Siddartha about Reshmi

CHAPTER 45
Amrita tells Siddartha about Reshmi

Siddartha was doing firing practice in academy. Amrita and Sneha were standing near him and observing him.
When Siddartha stopped to load the rifle, Amrita said, “Siddartha, I want one extra visitor’s entry pass.”

After firing a shot, looking at Amrita’s face in surprise,                                Siddartha asked, “For whom?”

Happily, Amrita said, “Today morning, I made friendship with a special girl. She is as expert in gymnastic as you are in shooting. I want a pass for her.”

The gymnastics created interest in Siddartha. “I too want to learn gymnastic.”

Amrita was excited. “She too wants to learn shooting.”

Siddartha was surprised. “Is it? In that case the both of us will become perfect match. Pass granted. In the morning, I will come to the ground and issue pass to your new friend.”

Amrita was shocked to hear this. She wondered whether she had made a mistake in telling Siddartha about Reshmi. She calmed down and said, “Sorry Siddartha. I will introduce my friend to you only in the shooting stadium.”

The National championship

Championship started. Amrita, Reshmi and Sneha were sitting in the audience with Rana. Siddartha came first in all matches. Announcement was going on in mike. Whenever Siddartha fired, the girls clapped with excitement. Rana kept going and advising Siddartha once in a while.

After the completion got over, there was an announcement.
“Siddartha has won in all categories and is the national champion.”

All clapped with excitement. Amrita hugged Sneha tight and said, “He is a real champion.”
She closed her eyes and said in Sneha’s ear, “He is my heart throb.”

Sneha was shocked. “Eh! You are going into dreams. Think of your father just once.”

Amrita opened her eyes. “This champion is a big hero now. He has already won my father’s heart.”

Happily, Sneha said, “Very good. I suppose you will soon make your dream boy your real life partner.”

Desperately, Amrita said, “I don’t think I will have any problem with my father. But I wonder when that wound my father made on him will heal. Only then he will open up. I am waiting for that day.”
